An uncommon melancholy look from Gus.
Ok, so we don't have the blues...exactly. We are nearing the end of a very long reno-journey. It has consumed nearly every spare second of Patrick's and therefore our weekends. I'm so happy to announce that the sanding of the drywall is completed and the priming of the walls is more than half done (possibly done tonight). I never imagined how exhausting it is for a mother and wife to endure such an endeavor. (And I hope never to repeat this experience.)
And I need to mention and applaud my dear husband for all the crazy long hours he's poured into our basement. It's amazing watching him work and not lose heart, despite the set backs that are always present when one is drywalling for the first time in their life. You inspire me Patrick and I'm so grateful for you.

I am also thankful we are so close to the finish line. And like most challenges I've faced in life, the very last stretch is often the most difficult. But onward we strive...with dreams of basement Superbowl parties and out of town guests staying in the most "sparest spare-room bed".
Pre-bath stretching
I find it so much easier than the tub these days...
This little one brings so much joy to our lives...
A gorgeous -4ºC day with the soft, fluffy snow...
...makes me so thankful the kids get to grow up in this climate.
Check out the floor covered with that dry wall dust.
I think I swept up at least a pail of it.
Yes, my title on this post fits.
Happy faces to come, next post I think.
Take care everyone.
